When to Use Dell Financial Services
Dell Financial Services makes sense in a narrow but common scenario: you are buying only Dell-branded, new equipment, you have an established Dell account, and your business will pass Dell's credit assessment. In that case, the promotional rates - particularly on PowerEdge servers - are genuinely competitive and the integrated sales process is frictionless.
If you are quoted a DFS rate, share it with us. In some cases we can match or beat it via the independent market; in others, DFS is the right choice and we will tell you so.
When Independent Finance Is the Right Choice
Multi-vendor deployment. Your server room does not contain only Dell. HP ProLiant, Cisco Catalyst, NetApp AFF, Nutanix - any non-Dell hardware cannot go into a DFS facility. Independent lenders put the entire bill of materials - regardless of vendor - into a single monthly payment.
Used or refurbished equipment. Dell Certified Refurbished servers and any third-party refurbished kit require an independent lender. Grenke and Close Brothers both finance used IT equipment, typically from 6.5% APR.
Software inclusion. Spreading software licence costs alongside hardware requires a lender comfortable with software assets. Grenke specialises in this; DFS's software bundling is limited.
DFS credit decline. Dell Financial Services has its own credit model. A decline from DFS does not mean a decline from the independent market - different lenders weight financial history, sector, and trading tenure differently.
