The Challenge
A high-net-worth investor was acquiring a 40-hectare Umbrian olive estate with a main farmhouse and three guest cottages. His intention was to operate an agriturismo, sell premium extra virgin olive oil, and use the estate personally. The agricultural land element and commercial activity required a specialist lender.
Our Solution
Doulton placed the facility with an Italian private bank experienced in agricultural estate lending. The agriturismo licence was confirmed pre-purchase. Olive oil production income projections were prepared by a local agronomo and submitted with the application.
The Outcome
Estate purchased and agriturismo licence operational from year one. Olive harvest in the first year produced 2,400 litres of EVOO sold direct and through a Florence retailer. Guest cottages fully booked June to September. Key highlights: Agricultural land and agriturismo licence both within security; Olive oil production income supported by agronomo report; Guest cottages and EVOO sales both generating income from year one.
