Key Considerations for Trailer Finance
Farm trailers are generally straightforward to finance, but a few factors affect which lenders will accept your case:
- Age and condition: New and near-new trailers attract the best rates. Trailers over 10 years old may require specialist lenders.
- Brand: Mainstream brands (Joskin, Bailey, Fliegl, Ifor Williams) have strong resale value and are accepted by all lenders.
- HGV-required trailers: Very large grain trailers requiring an HGV to tow are assessed differently - see our Agricultural HGV guide.
- Seasonal timing: Harvest-period applications can be processed quickly - contact us before the season for pre-approved facilities.
