What is a Seasonal Repayment Structure?
A seasonal repayment structure adjusts monthly payments to align with revenue. In a typical quarrying structure: higher payments run from April to October (peak extraction and delivery months), with lower or deferred payments in November to March.
This preserves cash flow in the winter months without requiring working capital bridging. The total amount repayable is the same as a standard structure - the timing of payments differs.
When Can It Be Arranged?
Seasonal structures are available from a small number of specialist lenders within the Doulton panel. They are not available on all facilities - lenders assess the business and the specific seasonal pattern before agreeing to non-standard payment schedules.
The business case is strongest where: audited accounts clearly show a seasonal revenue pattern, the extraction licence and planning consent confirm ongoing operational stability, and the operator has a clear forward programme.
What Documentation is Needed?
2 years of audited or management accounts showing the seasonal revenue pattern, extraction licence and planning consent, description of the quarry operation and production volumes, and insurance confirmation. We help structure the business case before approaching lenders.
Alternative: Revolving Credit Facility
If a seasonal hire purchase structure is not available for your specific facility, a revolving credit facility (RCF) can serve a similar purpose - drawdown in winter to cover payments, repay in summer as revenue increases. We can introduce operators to specialist business lenders alongside the asset finance conversation.
