The Challenge
A British national based in Singapore wanted to add three London properties to an existing portfolio. Income was earned in SGD through an FTSE-listed employer. Two mainstream brokers declined to act on the basis of foreign-currency income and non-UK residency.
Our Solution
Doulton placed two BTL mortgages and one commercial unit mortgage through specialist lenders accepting foreign-currency income from recognised employers, with no requirement to return to the UK at any stage. The commercial unit was placed with a separate specialist commercial lender comfortable with overseas-resident landlords.
The Outcome
All three mortgages completed inside 8 weeks. The London portfolio was successfully expanded without the client returning to the UK.
