Specialist supercar finance rates in 2026 range from 5.5% to 8.5% APR depending on the vehicle value, loan-to-value ratio, the borrower's profile, and whether the finance is hire purchase (HP) or a bespoke structured product. This is the only dedicated supercar finance rate guide published by a UK broker — mainstream lenders do not offer this product and competitor content is thin or absent.

| £100,000–£250,000 | 5.5%–7.5% | Up to 70% | McLaren, Ferrari Roma, Lamborghini Huracán range. Larger loan = better rate competition. |

What determines your rate
Vehicle value
Larger loans attract more lender competition and better rates — the sweet spot for the sharpest supercar finance rates is £150,000–£500,000. Below £50,000, specialist supercar lenders rarely compete — standard HP at higher rates applies. Above £500,000, private bank and bespoke lender facilities at competitive rates are available.
Deposit (LTV)
A larger deposit directly reduces the rate in specialist supercar finance, as in all asset-secured lending. At 30%–40% deposit (60%–70% LTV), rates are at the sharper end. At 10%–20% deposit (80%–90% LTV), both rate and lender availability reduce significantly.
Vehicle age and specification
Current-generation supercars (5 years old or less) attract the best rates — residual values are well-documented and depreciation curves are understood by specialist lenders. Very new limited editions may require specialist valuation. Pre-1990 classics carry higher rates due to value volatility.
Borrower profile
Income, credit profile, existing finance commitments, and net worth all affect the rate. A high-net-worth borrower with proven income and minimal existing finance accesses the sharpest rates. JBR Capital and Close Brothers both assess the full borrower profile, not just income multiples.
HP vs bespoke structured product
Standard hire purchase is the most common structure. Some specialist lenders (particularly for £250,000+ vehicles) offer bespoke structures — balloon payment HP, tailored amortisation schedules, or deferred capital products. These can lower the monthly payment compared to straight-line HP on high-value vehicles.
Worked cost example
- Monthly payment (HP, capital + interest)
- £2,959/month
- Total interest over 4-year term
- £16,037
- Total repayable
- £142,037
- Monthly saving over 4 years
- £238/month (£11,424 over term)
Scenario: £180,000 Ferrari F8 Tributo. Finance: £126,000 (70% LTV). 4-year term. HP at 6.0% APR.
At a lower rate of 5.5% APR (with larger deposit — 35% / LTV 65%)
Finance amount: £117,000. Monthly payment: £2,721. Total interest: £13,603.
Rate note: 6.0% APR on £126,000 over 4 years costs significantly less in total than 8.5% APR.
8.5% APR on same: monthly £3,106. Total interest: £23,069. Additional cost vs 6.0%: £7,032 over term.

Rate context and outlook
Bank Rate is 3.75% after the 17 September hold. Variable business facilities (revolving credit, invoice finance) move only with Bank Rate.
Fixed-rate hire purchase and leases are funded against swap rates, so some funders may nudge fixed pricing up after the September swap move. Quotes are typically held for 30 days.

Every Lender That Matters for Supercar Finance
The UK supercar finance market divides into two segments: captive manufacturer finance (subsidised, dealer-restricted, primarily for new cars) and independent specialist lenders (any source, any use, more flexible). Understanding where each fits is the starting point for any decision at this level.
| Lender / Scheme | Type | New HP From | New PCP From | Used From | Max Loan | Key Restriction |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ferrari Financial Services New Ferrari | Manufacturer captive | 5.5% | 4.9% | 6.5%+ | N/A | Ferrari approved dealers; personal only |

| Lamborghini Financial Services | Manufacturer captive (VWFS) | 5.7% | 5.1% | 6.5% | N/A | Lamborghini dealers; personal; prime credit |
| McLaren Financial Services | Manufacturer captive | 6.2% | 5.8% | 6.5% | N/A | McLaren retailers; less subsidised than peers |
| JBR Capital Panel Pick | Independent (Shawbrook backed) | 5.9% | 5.4% | 6.5–7.2% | £5m+ | None - any dealer, company, SPV |
| Aldermore Prestige | Independent bank | 6.2% | - | 6.8–7.5% | £2m | Standard prestige criteria |
| Investec Private Finance | Private bank | 6.5% | - | 6.5%+ | £3m+ | HNW private clients; existing relationship preferred |
| Mann Island Finance Adverse Credit | Adverse/near-prime specialist | 6.8% | - | 7.5–8.5% | £500k | Adverse credit specialist; higher deposit required |
Representative rates. Manufacturer PCP rates are only available through their respective approved dealer networks for new or certified used vehicles. Independent lenders are available through specialist brokers such as Doulton Bridging Finance.
HP vs. PCP for Supercars - What Actually Matters
The choice between hire purchase and personal contract purchase is the most consequential financial decision when funding a high-value vehicle. For most supercar buyers, the right answer is not the one that appears in brochures.
Hire Purchase
Recommended for most supercar buyers
- Higher monthly payment - you are paying for the full car
- You own the car outright at end of term - no balloon, no decisions
- No mileage limits - drive it as intended
- No GFV risk - you choose when to sell and at what price
- Available from any dealer or private sale
- Company purchase possible - HP through a limited company
- Better for investment-grade vehicles you plan to hold or sell above GFV
- Available from 5.9% APR on new supercars via independent panel
Personal Contract Purchase
Right in specific circumstances
- Lower monthly payment - GFV deferred to end of term
- Manufacturer-subsidised rates can be genuinely competitive
- Flexibility at end of term - return, buy, or refinance
- Mileage limits - typically 5,000–10,000 miles per year
- GFV set by manufacturer, not you - cannot be negotiated
- Manufacturer approved dealers only for new car PCP deals
- Not available for company purchase through most schemes
- Best for new cars through approved dealers on prime credit
Investment-Grade Supercars and Finance
Certain supercars are acquired not only for use but as appreciating assets - or at least as vehicles with stronger-than-average residual value. Finance structures affect your position as an owner when you hold or sell an appreciating car. HP gives you clean title and full control; PCP means the lender effectively co-owns the GFV portion, which complicates disposal during the term.
JBR Capital and Investec will fund vehicles with documented investment credentials - limited production runs, post-production collectibility, or provenance. These are assessed individually rather than through a depreciation model.
Ferrari F8 Tributo
Production ended 2023. Collectibility building - strong case for HP rather than PCP, preserving full upside on appreciation.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992)
Allocation-only model. GT3 RS residuals consistently outperform standard 911. Specialist lenders understand this premium.
McLaren Ultimate Series
Senna, Elva, P1 - ultra-limited, appreciating. Require bespoke lender assessment; standard products inapplicable.
Lamborghini Revuelto
Flagship hybrid V12 successor to Aventador. Early examples with priority allocation potentially investment grade.
Ferrari 296 GTB Speciale
Performance-variant limited run. Post-production demand historically strong for Ferrari Speciale models.
Classic & Pre-1990 Exotics
Classic car HP from 7.5% APR with specialist lenders. Requires professional valuation; market expertise essential.

Frequently asked questions
What finance options are available for a supercar?
The primary options are: hire purchase (HP) — own the car at the end of the term; PCP (Personal Contract Purchase) — lower monthly payments with an optional balloon at the end; lease (contract hire) — never own the car, monthly rental; and bespoke structured products for very high-value vehicles. HP is the most common for supercars over £100,000 as it provides ownership and allows modifications without restriction.
Can I get supercar finance with bad credit?
It is difficult but not impossible. Specialist lenders assess the full profile — if the borrower has significant net worth, property equity, or other assets alongside a credit issue, some specialist lenders can accommodate. The rate will be higher and the deposit requirement greater. Discuss your specific credit situation before any formal application — we advise on what is realistically achievable.
What is the minimum deposit for specialist supercar finance?
Most specialist supercar finance lenders require a minimum deposit of 20%–30% for vehicles above £50,000. The sharper rates (5.5%–6.5% APR) require deposits of 30%–40%. Below 20% deposit, lender choice narrows significantly and rates increase.
Can I finance a supercar as a non-UK resident?
Yes — DBF has a specific Expat Supercar Finance service. Specialist lenders with appetite for non-resident supercar finance are accessed through our panel. The deposit requirement is typically higher for non-residents (30%–40%). See our Expat Supercar Finance section for full detail.
Do I need specialist supercar insurance alongside specialist finance?
Yes — mainstream motor insurers typically decline supercars above £100,000 or impose very high premiums. Specialist supercar insurers (Hagerty, JBR Capital's insurance referral panel, specialist brokers) provide appropriate agreed-value policies. Some specialist finance lenders require evidence of agreed-value supercar insurance as a condition of the finance.
What is the best supercar finance rate available in the UK?
The lowest supercar finance rates in October 2026 are manufacturer-subsidised PCP rates of 4.9% APR, available on new Porsches (911, Taycan) and Ferraris through their respective approved dealer networks for buyers with prime credit and a minimum 20% deposit. For independent lenders - which fund any dealer, private sale, or company purchase - the market starts from 5.9% APR on new supercars through JBR Capital. Used supercars attract independent rates from 6.5% APR. Adverse credit, high mileage, or heavily modified vehicles may attract rates of 8–9% or above.
Which independent lender offers the best supercar finance?
JBR Capital is the market leader for independent supercar finance in the UK - backed by Shawbrook Bank, with rates from 5.9% APR, maximum loans to £5 million and above, and specific expertise in exotic vehicle residuals including Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, and limited editions. For ultra-high-net-worth clients with existing private banking relationships, Investec Private Finance is an alternative at a similar rate band. Mann Island Finance specialises in adverse credit and near-prime cases where other lenders decline. As your broker, we present your case to the right lender for your circumstances rather than defaulting to one provider.
Can investment-grade supercars be financed?
Yes. JBR Capital and Investec will consider vehicles with investment-grade credentials - limited production runs, post-production collectibility, or documented appreciation. The Ferrari F8 Tributo (production ended 2023), Porsche 911 GT3 RS (allocation models), and McLaren Ultimate Series cars are examples where specialist lenders will deviate from standard depreciation models and assess residuals on the vehicle's specific market position. Hire purchase is almost always the right structure for investment-grade vehicles - it preserves your ownership rights and your ability to capture appreciation during the finance term.
Can a new business get finance?
Yes, though many funders want 1–2 years of trading or a larger deposit; directors' personal credit matters more for young businesses.
Is VAT charged on hire purchase?
On HP, VAT is paid upfront with the deposit and can usually be reclaimed; on leases it is added to each rental.
What is a balloon payment?
A larger final payment that lowers the monthly cost; you pay it, refinance it or return the asset, depending on the product.
Do I need to put down a deposit?
Usually 0%–20%, depending on the asset, its age and your trading history.
