Packaging Equipment Finance: Options and Rates Explained

Finance options for UK packaging machinery: form-fill-seal, labellers, shrink wrappers. Rates, terms and worked example (£60k, 5yr HP at 8%).

Finance options for UK businesses investing in form-fill-seal machines, labellers, shrink wrappers and complete packaging lines.

Financing Packaging Equipment in the UK

Modern packaging lines represent significant capital investment. Form-fill-seal machines, sleeve labellers, shrink wrappers, palletisers and inspection systems can each cost tens of thousands of pounds - and a complete automated line can reach several hundred thousand.

Asset finance allows businesses to spread that investment over a fixed term, preserving working capital and often generating tax advantages through capital allowances (HP) or deductible lease payments (finance lease).

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What types of packaging equipment can be financed?

Most UK asset finance lenders will consider form-fill-seal machines, labelling systems, shrink wrap and sleeve applicators, carton erectors, palletisers, checkweighers and inspection systems. Bespoke or highly specialised machinery may require specialist lenders.

How long can I finance packaging machinery over?

Typical terms range from 2 to 7 years. The appropriate term depends on the expected useful life of the equipment. For high-volume production lines with long operational lives, 5–7 year terms are common.

Is a deposit required for packaging equipment finance?

Not necessarily. Several lenders on our panel - including Grenke and Nucleus Commercial Finance - can offer 100% finance with no deposit for qualifying applicants. Mainstream banks typically require 10%.

Can I finance a complete packaging line or only individual machines?

Both are possible. A complete line - including conveyors, filling machines, labellers and end-of-line equipment - can often be financed as a single asset or as a structured multi-asset deal. We can advise on the most efficient structure.

What is the quickest way to arrange packaging machinery finance?

Using a specialist broker with a panel of lenders is typically the fastest route. Once we have your details and financial information, we can often provide credit-approved terms within 24–48 hours. Some lenders can fund within 2–4 working days of receiving completed documentation.

Asset finance for business purposes is not regulated by the FCA. Rates shown are indicative as at October 2026 and depend on credit profile, term, asset and deposit. We act as a credit broker, not a lender. Your asset may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments.
