Why Refinance a Turboprop?
Turboprop finance rates have moved significantly in recent years. If your current facility was arranged more than 18–24 months ago, a review may identify meaningful savings. Even a 0.5% rate reduction on a £2m facility saves approximately £10,000 per year.
Equity release is another driver - if your aircraft has held its value well (as many premium turboprops do), you may be able to draw down additional capital against the aircraft's appreciated value while keeping monthly payments manageable.
What Lenders Look For in Refinance
Refinancing lenders will revalue the aircraft, assess current LTV and review your financial position. Where the aircraft has appreciated or the loan has reduced significantly, there may be headroom to refinance at a higher loan amount while remaining within LTV limits.
A full maintenance record, current airworthiness certificate and recent survey (usually within 12 months) will strengthen any refinance application.
Remortgage vs New Lender
In some cases, approaching your existing lender for a rate review is the quickest route to a better deal. In others, moving to a competing lender delivers the best outcome. We approach both options simultaneously, giving you objective advice on which is more advantageous.
