- 2We gather aircraft details, financial information and your structure preference
- 3We submit a packaged case to HSBC (and simultaneously test other lenders if appropriate)
- 4Credit decision received - typically 2–4 weeks
- 5Legal and survey phase, then drawdown
Key Considerations
- Relationship banking: rate and terms significantly better for established HSBC clients
- No set product structure - bespoke terms negotiated per transaction
- Very large transactions (£5m+) may be handled by HSBC's specialist aviation team in London
- HSBC is selective - not every application is accepted; broker presentation is important
- Cross-sell of FX, treasury or insurance products may be part of the overall package
- Slower process than specialist lenders: allow 3–5 weeks for full credit
