Key Factors Affecting Training Helicopter Finance Rates
ATO Certification
UK CAA ATO approval for PPL(H), CPL(H) or ATPL(H) programmes provides lenders with confidence that your training operation is regulated, in demand and generating predictable revenue from student throughput.
Aircraft Type
The Robinson R44 and R22 are the most lender-friendly training types, with well-established residual values. The Cabri G2 is also well regarded. Older or higher-hours training helicopters may require a larger deposit.
Fleet Size
Larger fleet requirements - typically 3 aircraft or more - may qualify for dedicated fleet facilities with improved rates and consolidated administration. Single-aircraft purchases are assessed individually.
School Financial History
Trading history, revenue from student fees, and the strength of your order book all influence lender appetite. Schools with 2+ years of profitable trading are best placed to achieve competitive rates.
