1.9 Million Fixed Deals Ending in 2026
UK Finance estimates 1.9 million fixed-rate mortgages expire in 2026. Around 75% of borrowers stay with their current lender by default - many without checking if a better deal is available elsewhere.
Since July 2026, the FCA no longer requires a full affordability review for borrowers moving to a cheaper deal. This means comparing and switching is faster than ever - but you still need to compare first.
